The Three Musketeers (1933) was a twelve-part movie serial produced by Mascot Pictures, often misremembered as a TV series due to its episodic structure and cliffhanger format. Loosely based on Alexandre Dumas’ novel in name only, the serial transplanted the setting to French-controlled North Africa and transformed the titular musketeers into members of the French Foreign Legion.
